Roland Yin

Roland Yin received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2026, graduating Summa Cum Laude. As an undergraduate, he conducted research on structure-property relationships in inorganic and quantum materials, including sodium-ion battery cathodes and superconducting kagome metals relevant to quantum computing. Roland is now pursuing his M.S./Ph.D. as an NSF GRFP Fellow in the Lightwave Research Laboratory at Columbia University, where his research interests include silicon photonic devices and circuits. In his spare time, he enjoys cycling, playing chess, film photography, and cooking.
